Boys and Girls aged 11 to 18
11th December 2020 to 4th January 2021
Pippa’s Guardians is pleased to announce a Pippa’s Christmas Camp in the beautiful Westonbirt School, Gloucestershire. Our camp will be relaxing, fun, educational and varied in the safe and welcoming setting of one of the UK’s most prestigious boarding schools.
Pippa’s will be running an educational timetable coupled with interesting activities and fun evenings for your child so they can enjoy the Christmas period in the UK. Your child can expect to study in a welcoming boarding school which will be well staffed with Pippa’s staff members. In the afternoon and evening we’ll be delivering various activities to ensure your child enjoys their Christmas break and makes the most of their holiday period. Your child can also expect to make new friends in a safe and supportive environment.
Where will my child stay?
Pippa’s Guardians will have exclusive use of Westonbirt School between the 11th of December and the 4th of January. Westonbirt School was established in 1928 and its building and surrounds are located in the spectacular and beautiful Cotswolds. It is peaceful, safe and a thriving boarding school for our students and the perfect setting for a beautiful British Christmas.
Hosted at Westonbirt School in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
Who will look after my child?
Your child will be cared for by a team of highly capable, experienced staff from Pippa’s Guardians. The Christmas Camp is led by Ben Hughes’ wife, Louise Hughes, a teacher at The Elms Prep School, whose pupils go on to the top boarding schools in the UK e.g. Eton, Harrow, Marlborough and Cheltenham Ladies’ College. All Christmas Camp staff are DBS checked (the national safeguarding standard in the UK) and we operate a staff: student ratio of 1:12. Most staff live on site ensuring there are professionals on hand to whom your child can turn to 24/7.
From the moment your child arrives at Westonbirt he or she will be nurtured and made to feel at home. We want your child to have an enriching educational experience balancing learning and fun to create memories, and friendships, that will last a lifetime. Our highly qualified staff are skilled at getting to know your child and paying attention to the details that make the difference, academically and socially. Should any difficulties arise, we have Mandarin speaking staff to help you or your child.
A day in the life
We will coordinate the camp depending on the year groups and their different needs. For the younger ages we will offer revision sessions, fun activities and evening entertainment. For our older students there will be more emphasis on study although a key component will still be various activities to ensure they enjoy their holidays, it is Christmas after all!
After breakfast and the daily briefing from Louise Hughes we will be offering structured study time for our students for the morning period. Students will be expected to study in their rooms or small groups supervised by a Pippa’s Guardians staff member. After lunch the fun begins with interesting activities and games for our students. In the evening we will be providing more study time or evening entertainment depending on the year group.
Christmas Day
On Christmas Day we will be celebrating in true British fashion! After a later than usual breakfast, we will be running British themed cultural activities followed by Christmas lunch and more games in the afternoon. Santa may even make an appearance!

Keeping your child safe
Rest assured that your child’s safety is our primary concern; the leadership team is dedicated to ensuring your child is kept safe at all times.
How? Daily briefings ensure your child knows what to expect from the day’s activities and how to adhere to any safety requirements. Staff are trained in First Aid so we can respond promptly if your child has an accident or injury. We conduct a test fire alarm so your child knows what to do in the very unlikely events of an incident, and no one is allowed on site without permission or pre-arrangement.
Staff are fully versed in the additional safety requirements resulting from the global pandemic. Together with domestic and catering staff at Westonbirt school, we will ensure Government guidelines and best practice for cleaning, sanitising and distancing are adhered to.
We will be testing ALL students prior to coming to the Christmas Camp and we will separate students into bubbles depending on their year group. We will follow all Public Health England guidance around Covid safeguarding and with no trips off site we are confident we will deliver a Covid safe environment.
