The town is a place of culture and celebrates music, literature, science, cricket, food and drink through a number of festivals throughout the year, as well as being famous for its Gold Cup annual horse racing event.

Who will look after my child?

Your child will be cared for by a team of highly capable, experienced staff from Pippa’s Guardians. The Half Term camp is led by Louise Hughes, a qualified teacher and Camp Director for all Pippa’s Camps.

All camp staff are DBS checked (the national safeguarding standard in the UK) and we operate a staff: student ratio of 1:12. Most staff live on site ensuring there are professionals on hand to whom your child can turn to 24/7. From the moment your child arrives at Cheltenham Ladies’ College he or she will be nurtured and made to feel at home. We want your child to have an enriching educational experience balancing learning and fun to create memories, and friendships, that will last a lifetime. Our highly qualified staff are skilled at getting to know your child and paying attention to the details that make the difference, academically and socially. Should any difficulties arise, we have Mandarin speaking staff to help you or your child.

Keeping your child safe

Rest assured that your child’s safety is our primary concern; the leadership team is dedicated to ensuring your child is kept safe at all times. Daily briefings ensure your child knows what to expect from the day’s actvities and how to adhere to any safety requirements. Staff are trained in First Aid so we can respond promptly if your child has an accident or injury. We conduct a test fire alarm so your child knows what to do in the very unlikely events of an incident.

Covid Precautions

Staff are fully versed in the additional safety requirements resulting from the global pandemic. These include social distancing where possible, wearing face masks where appropriate and easy access to hand washing or sanitising stations. Together with domestic and catering staff at the camp, we will ensure Government guidelines and best practice for cleaning, sanitising and distancing are adhered to. We will be testing ALL students and staff upon arrival to the camp. All staff and students must have a negative lateral flow Covid test before entering the building and mixing with students and staff.

Should anyone display symptoms whilst at the camp, they will immediately be put into isolation and a Covid test arranged for them. Should someone test positive they will need to complete 10 days isolation. They will, at all times, be cared for by our experienced team.
