The Pippa's Team

Your child will be cared for by a team of highly capable, experienced staff from Pippa’s Guardians. The Camp is led by Ben Hughes’ wife, Louise Hughes, who is the Director for all Pippa’s camps as well as a qualified English teacher. All Camp staff are DBS checked (the national safeguarding standard in the UK) and we operate a staff: student ratio of 1:12. We have staff living on site ensuring there are professionals on hand to whom your child can turn to 24/7. From the moment your child arrives at the camp he or she will be nurtured and made to feel at home. We want your child to have an enriching educational experience balancing studying and fun to create memories, and friendships, that will last a lifetime. Our highly qualified staff are skilled at getting to know your child and paying attention to the details that make the difference, academically and socially.

Safety

Rest assured that your child’s safety is our primary concern; the leadership team is dedicated to ensuring your child is kept safe at all times. Daily briefings ensure your child knows what to expect from the day’s activities and how to adhere to any safety requirements. Staff are trained in First Aid so we can respond promptly if your child has an accident or injury.

Staff are fully versed in the additional safety requirements resulting from the global pandemic. Together with domestic and catering staff at Uppingham school, we will ensure Government guidelines and best practice for cleaning, sanitising and distancing are adhered to.

All students and staff will undergo a lateral flow test upon arrival at the Camp  as well as regular testing throughout the camp. Any student feeling unwell during the camp, will be able to isolate and a PCR test arranged.
