FutureReady programme

The FutureReady Programme is designed for students who want to strengthen their university applications and develop skills, experience and confidence for their future.

With university applications becoming competitive, students build a profile through work experience, volunteering, leadership and careers development. They gain experience they can use in their CV, personal statement and future applications.

The programme begins with career preparation and employability skills. Students learn about interview techniques, making a first impression and effective communication, while practising through mock interviews and presentations.

Students then complete a work experience or volunteering placement with a local community project, charity or business. This provides insight into the world of work and helps develop skills.

Leadership development allows students to plan and deliver an activity for younger students, giving them experience of responsibility, initiative and leadership.

A University Admissions Workshop helps students understand how to make applications stand out and write a strong personal statement.

Students also learn to find their work experience and volunteering opportunities, building confidence to continue developing their university and career profile. They leave with experience, greater confidence and a clearer understanding of how to stand out when applying to university and for opportunities.
